Which digital cameras are better for amateurs….Nikon, Canon, FujiFilm or any other brand ?

I am from India and my Canon digital camera is not working so I am planning to buy another one. Budget is not more than Rs. 7,000 /-. But I want the camera to last long. I want both still & video.

I prefer Canon for simple point-and-shoot digital cameras.
you really can’t expect to be on a budget AND expect the camera to last a long time. you get what you pay for. And if you are a total amateur then perhaps you should buy a better brand to help you out a little?
