Digital Cameras Double Exposure

is there any way to have the double/multi exposure look on a digital camera picture?
i know how to do it on film cameras, but is there any way to merge two pictures (like on photoshop) to make it look like it has double exposure?
I did this with a hand held flash in the dark, one long exposure.
