cannon cameras?
has anyone used or read a good reveiw of the cannon eos d350 or d400
i am looking at getting into digital photography, i recently started using an old 35mm slr that i aquired but the cost of developing film is prohibative. i have most of the toys for the camera so would like to stick to cannon, but i am flexible as to cameras, but these 2 both fit the budget.
any info greatly appreciated.

I had that Canon 55-200 mm zoom lens. It worked quite well really–and it was cheap (and unfortunately it felt it). However, it was good enough for me at the time. It was very very light and it focused very quickly but loudly. You would have to try it out at the store to “hear” for yourself.
I thought the photos came out fine (as in sharp and in focus).
When mounted on a smaller sensor camera like the one you mentioned, it is a bit more like 88-266 mm zoom, so you will get a tighter shot. To focus manually, you would have to disable the AUTO focus (and switch it to MANUAL) as you can’t and shouldn’t force the focusing ring to move.
