What is the difference between dots and megapixels in a digital camera, please?
Dots is an alternative, non-technical name for pixels [1]. Mega [2] is a prefix that means one million.
A digital picture has an image size (width and height) measured in pixels. One multiplies the two to get the number of pixels in an image, eg, 3000 wide by 2000 high = 6,000,000 pixels or 6 megapixels.
