What digital camera/camcorder is the best for shooting ULTRASHARP footage as in this video?

I’m really confused at the moment. I wanted to buy a camcorder to film movies and put them on Youtube.
I had an eye on the Sony handycam HDR XR550, but When I look on Youtube, All the beautiful movies are shot with DIGITAL CAMERAS! not camcorders. How come ?

You will see it is shot with a digital camera. which is meant for taking photographs? or am I mistaking?
What is the difference between all this? And is it possible to shoot such footage as well with HD camcorders?

handicams are shot with personal modes and methods , specifically made to be simple , no adjusting light and iso , no switching lens , and tints , simple..
these camera’s cost more for the barebones than the handicam , and a lens again will get you another camera , then a tripod to make it look nice , your depth of field , and iso handling .
the canon mark 2 is around $4500 , plus lens etc
they are better simply cos they cost a lot more
