Compatible Camcorders For Imovie
Camcorder & Shotgun Mic Purchasing Help?
I am a filmmaker with a low budget. At the moment, I am restricted to Youtube, but am planning on a short movie soon. The only problem is that my only equipment is iMovie and a Flip Mino.
If you have any suggestions for low priced camcorders that are compatible with low priced shotgun mics, that would be greatly appreciated!
I was looking at sony camcorders that are compatible with sony’s $70 shotgun mic and the decent ones seem to be a bit on the expensive side with my budget. I would appreciate any answers, but am looking more for each product being around $100 or less. A camcorder may be more because that is the nature of their pricing, but I’m trying to stay as low as possible while still being able to purchase a video camera with a shotgun microphone.

I am not aware of any $100 camcorder that has a mic jack. The least expensive I would consider is the Canon ZR960… maybe a FS100.
As for a shotgun mic, check the Audio-Technica ATR-6250.
