Colorado Camcorders
Are camcorders allowed at airports?
My friend and I want to take our camcorder with us to the airport and film us on the plane and stuff. 
But when I went to the mall and filmed we got in trouble and they said we couldn’t because of copyright. I really REALLY don’t want to get my 400$ camcorder that I use everyday to be taken away by the airport security. 
I live in colorado. It would be in DIA. (Denver International Airport)
In the U.S., it’s legal to record video at airports in areas freely accessible to the public. Other areas may or may not impose restrictions. For example, U.S. customs and immigration areas usually don’t want you to record video or take pictures, for some reason.
The people at the mall were lying or badly misinformed if they mentioned copyright. A lot of people don’t know what they are talking about when it comes to image rights.
Also, nobody can take your camera without due process in the U.S., except at military installations. Someone who seizes your camera is stealing it, no matter what you recorded with it.
Unfortunately, as I’ve said, a lot of people have no clue how image rights work, and they may try to bully you into doing or not doing things without any legal basis for their demands. Standing up for your rights can cause you a lot of inconvenience and hassle. Then again, if you let people walk all over you even when you are within your rights, eventually you won’t have any rights left at all.
