Will this Camcorder be good enough to do what I am planning?
I’ve been looking for a camcorder with a microphone input and finally came across one:

I plan to make scare / prank videos and start a Youtube channel (kind of like edbassmaster, jackvalefilms, thescarysnowman). My only concern at this point, is will this camera give a good picture,especially when recording from up to 300 ft. away?
I noticed it has 3.89 megapixels. Do you think this is good quality?

It is a flash based camera. No it will not give you quality video 300 feet away. Shooting at that far, i would go with a minidv tape based camera, as they provided the best video quality in a ten out of ten test against Flash and Hard Drive and CD. The cannon ZR line of cameras have mic inputs and could shoot something that far away.
