Cheap Refurbished Camcorders
camcorder picture is still bad even the replacement is shocking?
have received a new camcorder after i contacted the refurbish company that sold me the original this also is exactly the same so now i have 2 camcorders with terrible playback…………… picture is blurred, pinky, very greeny also ……….i tried the white balance to no effect ……are hard drive camcorders that bad on playback? or is it just this model panasonic h86 im just glad mine was a cheap £100 re-furb so thats all i lost and of course the cost of sending the second one back to them!

I looked around at various Panasonic SDR-H86 reviews and test footage posts (such as this one, showing LCD playback image: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgl51sJoa6E&NR=1 ) and I don’t see any general problems associated with that model.
Unfortunately, the quality and ethics of “refurb & factory-seconds” dealers can’t always be counted on, so unless there is some lighting issue or default auto-focus setting that you are missing, I don’t think any forum discussion (without photos or video samples) is going to help you with the symptoms you describe.
Hard drive and flash drive consumer camcorders, as opposed to miniDV tape format units, utilize highly-compressed video (which doesn’t handle fast-action subjects well), so if that is what you mean by “blurry” (motion-blurring as opposed to focus-blurring) you need something better for your shooting needs.
Compare your LCD playback with the YouTube links I’ve posted in my Sources below, and feel free to use the Additional Details link to post feedback or further questions/details. If the playback quality you are complaining about is on your TV or computer, there are other variables there that can affect the “quality”, color-shift, and “blurry” aspects of the image you see.
