Canon Dvd Camcorders
Camcorders…MiniDV or DVD?
I wanted to know which is better and easier to use when it comes to MiniDV and DVD camcorders…I was looking at Sonys and Canon. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
MiniDV tape assumes your computer has a firewire port – or your computer has an available expansion slot so you can install one if needed. Firewire is the way DV/HDV is transferred from the miniDV tape to the computerr. USB will not work. USB/firewire converter adapters will not work. MiniDV tape provides “best available video quality” because DV/HDV compresses less than other consumer storage media methods.
MiniDVD assumes you do not want to edit the video anywhere and do not want to upload the video anywhere. MiniDVD based camcorders barely make good doorstops. MiniDVD compresses the most of the available consumer storage media types.
Digital video compression = discarded video data = reduced video quality.
