do four year old digital cameras loose their ability to take quality pictures?
I have a Canon A640, which i really like. Recently I’ve noticed that my pictures are not so clear and sharp as before. I compared photos I took when I first got the camera to photos i just took. They definitely look different. Am I right to assume that it’s just old technology and i should look for a new camera? I read somewhere that the you should use new batteries and that would help. Is that true? Please help, I leave for vacation next week and i’m really looking forward to taking great pictures.

It is rare that the cameras sensor or electronics will start to fail and produce poor images, but anything can happen (there are no moving parts in the sensor or electronics).
Call Canon and have them help you do a factory default reset. That may solve your problem.
