Canon Camcorders For Sale
Are These Camcorder Models Being DISCONTINUED?
I’m planning to buy either a JVC Exerio GZ-HM200 OR a Canon FS200. I went to the BestBuy ONLINE STORE & when I saw Both of these Camcorders they were Both REFURBISHED!!
1) Does this mean that these 2 Models Are Being DISCONTINUED??
Now what do I do? Being that this is the X-Mas season where things are on Sale now I find that they’re REFURBISHED. I rather buy a FRESHLY NEW one (instead of a “USED” one or “DISCONTINUED” one.).
BTW I rather buy in an actual Store (BestBuy, J&R, Radio Shack, etc. or any other Electronic store or stores like Target, etc.) & NOT ONLINE!! I DON’T LIKE Ordering ONLINE Both for Security reasons AND not being able to Try It Out (Touch it, etc.).
So, if these Models ARE Being DISCONTINUED then
2) Can someone suggest me any other Models of Both the JVC Exerio & Canon that are Good?
I’m open to any suggestions.
Refurbished can mean that someone bought the camcorder and either didn’t like it or couldn’t figure out how to use it. It can also mean that there was a glitch or serious problem.
Usually refurbished camcorders are returned, inspected and then re-sold through various vendors. They usually have a limited warranty period but that can be balanced with a much reduced retail price.
You get what you pay for – if you want a untouched new camcorder with current features you will pay more. Reliable retail stores like B&H, Samy’s and J&R will tell you (actually have to tell you) if an item is refurbished. You will see that word in the ad.
Look at the features of the FS200 and the GZ-HM200, figure out what you have to have and then visit the vendor’s web sites to find models that are close to those camcorders. If there are new or the next generation, you will pay more but you might have a trouble free unit.
Or not.
