What is the difference between a 1/8″ optical sensor and 1/6″ optical sensor in case of camcorders ?
I want to make a choice out of two camcorders sony dcr-sr68e and canon legria fs200. The differences with them are sony has 1/8″ optical sensor, 1/500 shutter speed, 80GB harddisk while canon has 1/6″ optical sensor, 1/2000 shutter speed, memory card recording. Which one should i go for ?
Simply put, larger optical sensors perform better in low light conditions. If you think you’ll be using the camera indoors a lot, I’d go for the Canon.
