Canon Camcorders Cables
I have this pretty old camcorder (canon zr80) and I need a cable a cable for it to plug into my new laptop.?
I have a canon zr80 which did come with one cable. I’m no cable expert but one end is small and goes into the camera, and the other end is a large firewire (the one that looks like usb but with the rounded edge).
My computer is a Studio 15 laptop and doesn’t have the firewire port. So I’m not sure what I would need to buy to be able to plug this camera into my computer.

I have a ZR canon. Old but very good, it will beat the quality of any so called HD (consumer camcorders) camera out there as it shoots in uncompressed CDV. I’d rather send mine in to Canon for repair, than purchase a similarly priced HD camera!
Anyway, you need a standard firewire 4-6pin cable and an adapter for your laptop. Also, due to the quality of the video, each hour of tape will be 13 gigs of video.
