How do I know if my computer has FireWire support or not?
I’ve been looking online for camcorders, And narrowed my search to dvtape based camcorders. Most probably gonna buy Canon VIXIA HV30 MiniDV . I see that most of them have FireWire to transfer videos to a computer. How can I find out if my computer has a port for this (Firewire) or not? It’s a Toshiba Satellite A210. I can see a 4 pin port on left side at far front end not sure what that is.
advice please, Does it have a port
heard that there r 6 pin 4pin ports. which of them is Canon VIXIA HV30 compatible with.

I don’t think the Toshiba A210 has a firewire port. Here is a picture of the port on a desktop…this will give you an idea of what to look for.
I looked up the Canon VIXIA HV30 MiniDV and I see it comes with a USB cable.

Most devices that have a Firewire will also contain a USB cable. You would notice a difference in minutes when uploading a video to your computer.
