What type of computer should I get for editing Cannon Hg20 Vixia Full HD?

My computer right now (HP pavilion Slimline) cannot handle the HD.
The footage comes out skippy in sony vegas.
I was wondering the computer best for me, like a mac ect..?
If you buy Mac, we’ve heard stories here, about problems with cameras talking with a Mac. I believe it’s because 95% of the planet runs on windows these cameras don’t relate well to Apple.
Okay, that said, you can buy a card reader for little $$. As I understand it, readers do talk with Mac.
Either way you’re going to need software.
