Probability help… AP Stats?
At a warehouse sale 100 customers are invited to chose one of 100 identical boxes. Five boxes contain $700 color television sets, 25 boxes contain $540 camcorders and the remaining boxes contain $260 cameras. What should a customer be willing to pay to participate in the sale?
The answer is 352 but I don’t know how to get the answer. I just need the formula or concept that I should use and I can do it from there, but any help is appreciated!
Take the weighted average:
[5(700) + 25(540) + 70(260)] / 100 = 352
Note: 70 is obtained from 100 boxes minus (5+25).
