What kind of recorders do people use to make Youtube videos/vlogs?
Webcams? Camcorders? Picture-taking cameras with a recording function? And how do they edit them so that they can cut in scenes and stuff? Do you have to buy software for that?

You can use any of those cameras,for a good video its all depend on the light and the microphone .
for the light use 3-lights one for the background and two in front one on each side .And an external microphone .
And for editing use the Windows Movie Maker ,all Windows PCs have it.
