I was looking at these same camcorders and a few others I’m surprised sears has them listed for the same price which is cool b/c Sony MSRP is $100 more for the 308 than the 108. I’m no expert but here is what I compare between these two.
The 108 has a farther optical zoom. Yet both have the same color sensors and the same night shot plus. The 108 has a pixel gross of 680k and the 308 has 1070k, apparently meaning the 308 has better resolution. Another thing is that the 308 has an “Active Interface Shoe” which can be used to add an external directional or wireless microphone or a spotlight that you can buy separately for $80 to $200 each. Between these two camcorders I would choose the 308 since they are the same price from where you plan on buying them from. I am currently looking at Hard drive camcorders vs mini DVD. Just like I’m telling myself, make sure you pick one that is gonna meet your needs and budget.
