Camcorders Nightshot
Help choosing the right camcorder?
Well I’m looking into buying a camcorder and I have a general idea of what I want but I can’t seem to decide on the right model. Here are some of the specifications for my ideal camcorder:
-HD
-Flash memory
-Good reviews
-Decent amount of features
-$500 budget
-Infrared night vision
I have reasons for needing all of these features and I don’t want to be advised on what I do or don’t need, I already know that part. Most of these features can be easily accomplished, but the one that keeps seeming to stop me in my tracks in the lack of night vision in every single camcorder I view. I know Sony used to have nightshot in their camcorders but they’ve phased that out ever since they moved to their new sensor. I’ve heard that Canon has a similar feature in some of their camcorders but I haven’t quite been able to find one that has it. Could someone please recommend a camcorder to me or at least tell me key words to look for when searching for one?
The first two specifications you list, scare me. MiniDV Tape based cameras have better video quality when compared to all other video storage means. Get a Camera with a Mic input on it also, or you will be looking to buy something like that which can found in the top 2 or 3 pictures here – http://www.asimplelife.ca/boss.html. That means, with no mic input, you will be using a digital audio recorder to capture the audio you camera sucks, mainly anything 5 feet or more from the camera.
