What kind of cameras/camcorders do cameramen use?

I usually make videos but I am tired of my camera’s quality. My Nikon is alright but my videos never have the hi-def quality of theater movies have such as twilight, transformers ..etc

SO what kind of cameras do they use to film these movies. Also I want to know the setting they use to make the scene look kind of darkish. For instance shows like Criminal Minds, CSI Las Vegas and law and order have this dark mood to them; while shows like CSI Miami, Bad Boys 2, and NCIS have this bright mood to them

How do they do this?

Professional 3 CCD cameras are used for making such videos.

If you are concerned only about the dark settings, then get a good editing software like Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas. Using them you can even make shots taken during day time appear like night scene.
