I want to buy a good handy-cam/camcorder, any suggestions?

I’m currently living in Australia and I am going to Hong Kong for 3 days in roughly two weeks, I have about $2000-2500 to spend for a good camcorder/handy-cam. I want it to be preferably HD, with a decent amount of megapixels. I mainly wish to aquire the camera for uploading videos to facebook or Youtube and home videos. Any suggestions or comments?

Thats a decent amount of money even if in ozzy dollars.
You can find a good HD camera for less than that, I would look into anything Sony.

For uploading to youtube or facebook, the resolution does not have to be that great, as the sites will compress and degrade your vids anyway.
