camcorders explained
Can someone explain digital camcorders to me?

I wan to update our families camcorder. Right now we have one that records onto small tapes that you put into reader VHS. I don’t know how to work the newer ones. Do you need to have a great computer to watch the videos? How do you watch them on tv?

There are some digital cameras that record onto digital tape called “minidv.” I recommend those to anyone who is looking for a camcorder these days. They record the best quality over hard drives and DVD cameras.
Usually when you buy the minidv cameras, they come with extra cables to hook up to your television. So once you want to watch something you have taped, you can just hook your camera to you TV and watch it from there. Plus, if down the road you decide that you want to put them on your computer, you can.
But, the DVD camcorders could be easier for you to use. Once you are finished with the DVD you can just finalize it and stick it into your DVD player to watch it. So this may be the best option for you.
