JVC Everio GZ-MG330RU Not Connecting to Computer?
My mom and I both have these camcorders. Neither one of our computers are recognizing our camcorders. It’s like the camcorders is the USB and you get the opinions that you are suppose to get, it’s that the computers don’t see the USBs. We have tried different ports. She has put some videos on the computer, with it, in the past. Hers just now stopped working. I haven’t transferred any of my videos…so I don’t even know if it worked in the first place. Please help if you can..THANKS!
I frequently encounter this problem when capturing video. If usb has worked before, make sure that the computer has the correct software to recognize the camera. Because Everio doesn’t have the rights to certain file formats they include their own bundle of editing and capturing software. On certain computers this makes for a gigantic headache. Make sure you’ve clicked the option to “back-up” on the LCD screen of the camera as well.
If it does have the software on the computer try turning the camera off, plugging it in and then turning the camera on. Your usb cable could be bad or your computer’s RAM is overloaded and can’t access the camera yet. The programs take a lot of RAM to start up. If all else fails try restarting the computer.
Also, firewire is a much better way to connect a camera to a computer, if you have the capability to do that i would suggest it.
