Can Anyone Help Transferring VHS Videos To The Computer For Editing?
I just got ahold of Pinnacle Studio Version 10 and have been using this to transfer videos captured on camcorders to the computer and so far have been successful. The videos I have been transfering have been from a HI8 and with a few adjustments the recording is crystal clear however when I try and do this with the VHS the recording comes in unsteady, the audio is not placed with the moving video and the color is distorted. I am coming to believe that my computer is not fast enough but I don’t think this is the case for the VHS. Otherwise I rather think it is the connection that I have been using. For the HI8 recordings I am using an S-Cable which I think makes a huge difference. I am thinking if I had an S-Cable connection on the VHS this would be all I would need but before I spend another 100$ I want to be sure this is worth the investment. Any help would be grealty appreciated. Thanks.
Right now I am using regular RCA cables (Red, White, Blue)
Well – we don’t know what you are using to copy the vhs over (rca cables, or coax input/channel 3 or 4, or what?) It would be relatively inexpensive nowadays to buy a new VHS with S-cable outputs and try that. Your heads may simply be worn on the old vhs machine – even though the signal to an analog television may appear fine. Just a thought.
