What format do Hard disk drive camcorders store their movies on the computer?
I want a hard disk drive camcorder and pretty soon I’m getting a mac computer. Will imovie be able to import clips from the camera?
iMovie will most likely just recognize your camcorder. Mac os x can read almost any format (it’s just that they can’t always write to it, for example, they can read ntfs but they can’t write to it).
Most likely iMovie will import the files and convert them into something that’s more easy for the computer to edit. So you’ll get a bigger file, and it could take a while before it’s done converting the video.
