Camcorders All
are there any HDD HD camcorders with firewire out ports on them? They all seem to be USB out only?
It seems that my old miniDV camcorder had firewire out, so why don’t the new HD HDD cameras have it? I need this for my video capture and editing software like OnLocation, Premier Pro etc
Consumer grade with internal hard drives? Probably not. AVCHD/MTS data files are different from HDV (miniDV tape) that way.
If your versions of OnLocation, Premier Pro or whatever else you use can deal with MTS files, copy those files form the camcorder to the computer (over USB), launch the video editor and drag-drop to the editor.
If you want to capture real-time into the computer, then you could get an HDMI card (or external device) to interface between the camcorder and the computer… Like those from Black Magic – among a few others…
