Best Mid Priced Camcorders
Any tips for best camcorder??
I have a big birthday coming up and asked for a camcorder. However, although we have a nice Sony photo camera, we haven´t got a clue about camcorders. Please advise what things to look for and which makes/models to go for in the mid-range price class…. I will mostly use it to film the family, but probably will want to be able to edit easily as well, so the additional software is important too…..
Thanks everybody for your answers, you helped us all a lot. It’s impossible to choose a best answer, everybody added really useful information…… We have a much better idea what to look for now, suppose it will come down to doing some serious leg work to find the best camera for the best price!
Buy a Sony Digital 8 camcorder. DO NOT buy the DVD camcorder……picture quality is not as good, record time is less and they are typically more expensive. The Sony offers stillshot, a pretty good night vision (on some models) and it generally has a Leica lens (Leica makes some of the worlds best photography lenses)
