Best Infrared Camcorders
Does a camcorder have to have an IR mode to shoot at night?
We are looking into buying some camcorders and we are trying to decide what type is best. Should we get:
1. flash memory
2. MiniDV
3. DVD
Also if we get a camcorder that has no night vision mode but, get infrared lights to attach to the camcorder will the camcorder still capture the video in darkness?
We are using these camcorders with our lights out investigations. What we want to know is how to produce the best picture if our camcorders don’t have a night vision mode. Thanks
no camera works in total darkness, not even the IR types, they all require illumination source. if you are willing to use an IR illuminator, then why not use regular lights?? IR produces a yucky monochrome picture, where as normal lights produce full color images.
miniDV is the superior format, it has a datarate that is 4 times that of DVD or standard flash memory types, plus it offers uncompressed digital stereo audio.
