when is the best time to get deals and special offers on electronics?
talking about buy camcorders, hdtv, digital cameras, etc.
I don’t know about the best time, if ever. But the worst possible time to buy consumer electronics is in the weeks leading up to Christmas. If anything, I’ve seen prices GO UP during the Christmas buying season.
The reasoning is that stores know that consumers are out buying electronics for gifts and they are not as concerned about price as when people buy for themselves. Also, they are they know that there’s no need to lower the prices, as people will buy anyway.
It used to be that in the weeks following New Years that stores would “dump” all excess inventory and that was a good time to pick up a few bargains. But anymore, thanks to Sam Walton and the “Walmart Way”, excess inventories are a thing of the past.
