240 Fps Camcorders
Why do some countries use PAL while others use NTSC?
I think the main difference is frame rate, there is the other technical ac voltage cycle frequency difference too.
NTSC 29 fps @ 60hz / 120 volts AC
PAL 25 fps @ 50hz / 240 Volts AC
Does the voltage frequecy has anything to do with the frame rate?
You would think the higher frame rate the smoother and cleaner a video would look right, so why can’t the world agree on one video standard? How fast of a frame rate will our eyes be satisfied at?
Why are films played in the lower 24 fps?
Also why are these new HD camcorders only record at 1080p 24 fps max?
Will the world video standards unite with the advent of HD video broadcasting. Will a HD res. video from Europe still have to go through a conversion process before it can be viewed on an American system?

Also here is an article explaining 1080p (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1080p). It explains to an extent why 24fps is used for HD. It appears that this was chosen to allow the signal to be compatible worldwide. It looks like newer standards utilizing 50 and 60fps are under consideration.
